AncientAvenger.com is a news and information site for Blizzard’s upcoming game, Diablo III. Ultimately it may evolve into something else, such as a Barbarian class site, but until then it will be a hub for D3 news.
From time to time, there may also be a few nods to Diablo and Diablo II. I quit playing both of those games some time ago, but every once in awhile I do grow sentimental and have to reflect upon some of those memories. They’re still both fantastic games, but the graphics and game play are just a little too crude for me these days. Then again… so is Galaga, but I still love to play it whenever I see it in an old crusty pizza parlor somewhere. ๐
Like many others, I am eagerly anticipating the release of Blizzard’s upcoming sequel to arguably the greatest computer game franchise in history… Diablo. By the time D3 is ready for the masses, I imagine that over a decade will have passed since the release of D2. It seems like an unusually long time to have to wait for a sequel to such a wildly popular and successful game, but Blizzard has definitely had their hands full with World of Warcraft. Being that WoW has kept me entertained in between Diablo releases, I forgive them. ๐
If it weren’t for World of Warcraft, I’d probably still be playing Diablo II: Lord of Destruction on occasion. I was so incredibly immersed in that game for years. But… after I installed WoW, it took a backseat to the next generation MMO.
I threw the play disc in once in awhile after playing World of Warcraft, but it just seemed so crude in comparison. Eventually I stopped logging in to Battle.net and eventually lost all of the characters I had enjoyed for nearly half a decade. It saddens me now, because with the eventual release and buzz surrounding D3, I have become nostalgic. If there were a way to reactivate those accounts, believe me, I would do it. Oh how I miss playing my Frenzy Barb and Bone Necro.
Alas, we have D3 to look forward to! I am chomping at the bit to get my paws on this upcoming sequel to the greatest video game series in the world… ever… end of story. I will be scouring the internets looking for news, rumors and leaks. Of course, all the while I plan on sharing these findings with you folks over here at AncientAvenger.com.
Be sure to check back, and check back often.
