Are there plans to implement a system in Diablo 3 by which players can compare each other’s damage done..?
Nope.
In a recent thread on the Battle.net forums, Bashiok dismissed any rumors or concerns about their being some sort of damage meter included in Diablo 3.
His comment was in response to this post:
in wow there is dps charts and it makes the game feel more like a job and trying as hard as you can to just get good dps instead of playing for fun and using different strategy’s
maybe a blizzard employee can confirm that there is no dps charts
(i have wow and my dps is good but thats not the problem i just want to lay back)
Quote from Bashiok:
There are no DPS charts in World of Warcraft.
People have though created add-ons which attempt to compare the DPS of each player, as well as healing output, absorption, etc. These aren’t included in the game, nor are they supported. Personally I think they can be useful to a point, but are abused by people who don’t know how to use and read them properly, and are too commonly relied on as a means to judge the performance of others.
In any case, Diablo III doesn’t provide a customizable UI through add-ons, and we have no intent to provide DPS charts. (Source)
Although WoW does not support such added functionality, Blizz allows for UI customization within World of Warcraft. It seems as if there are no plans to enable any sort of 3rd party UI customization or extended functionality for Diablo 3.
Then again… why would you want to tamper with perfection..? The Diablo 3 UI is simplistically gorgeous, and the game play doesn’t necessitate the gathering of meaningless statistics.
