Patch 1.0.4 Auction House Improvements

August 21, 2012 By Craig Leave a Comment

Among the great things arriving with patch 1.0.4 – including: the Paragon level system, Legendary item buffs, and a whole laundry list of class skill buffs – are some major improvements to the auction house system. Here are a some of the most noteworthy updates that will be coming to the auction house…

Cancel Auctions Anytime

Auctions can now be canceled at any time, provided the item(s) have no bids.

Increased Gold Stack Size

Players will be able to sell gold in stacks of 1,000,000 (up from 100,000). For those of you that use the RMAH, this will be both good and bad. It will undoubtedly drive the price of gold way down, since the minimum listing price will still remain 0.25. This is good news for those of you looking to purchase gold, as it will be much cheaper after Patch 1.0.4. However, players that are sitting on a mountain of the stuff will likely see a huge decrease in the value of their precious cheddar when they go to list it. This change will definitely shake up the Diablo 3 economy a bit.

Double the Searchable “Preferred Stats”

Searchable preferred stats will increase from 3 to 6. This is a nice feature which will allow players to perform very detailed searches on the auction houses.

Increased Minimum Value Searches

Minimum values can now be searched 5 figures deep – up from 3. For example, you can now search for an item with a minimum value of 9,999 or 99,999, instead of just 999. This change will likely give the game a little room to grow as future items are introduced.

Minimum Damage Becomes “Average Damage”

Minimum damage will be replaced by “average damage” as a searchable stat. Average damage = minimum damage + maximum damage / 2. A weapon with a base damage of 24 – and top damage of 36 – would provide an average damage of “30” (24 + 36 = 60 / 2 = 30).

Gem Stats Will No Longer Affect Item Searches

Searchable socketed items will no longer reflect their stat increase if they are already slotted with gems. Only the stats on the gear itself will be factored into searches now. This is a welcome change. ๐Ÿ™‚

Instant Updates on Completed Auctions

The Completed tab will now instantly refresh whenever an item sells while you’re in the auction house interface.

Tooltips

Tooltips will now be shown for Completed items, including purchased, sold and items that failed to sell. This will provide a nice reference for your listings history, concerning the more desirable and less desirable stat values.

Item Compare Tooltips for Recommended Items

Item compare tooltips will now be available for items on the Recommended Items page. This will offer a quick visual reference for possible available upgrades.

Searchable Stats on Legendary Items

Players will now be able to find that perfectly itemized Legendary by being able to run detailed stat value searches!
