Are you tired of slogging through the same old content…time and time again, each time you level a new character? This next expansion should hold the cure to what ails you….
Choose Your Play Mode: Campaign or Adventure
Reaper of Souls will feature 2 different game play modes: Campaign and Adventure.
Campaign Mode will be story driven with linear progression, pretty much exactly how the game is right now. Campaign Mode will focus on the storyline, the lore, and will feature all of the in-game movies and cut-scenes.
Adventure Mode, on the other hand, will be a non-linear, do-whatever-it-is-you-feel-like approach to playing. In Adventure mode, players will have the option of going anywhere and doing whatever they want, at any level. All difficulty levels and all waypoints will be unlocked, meaning you can level anywhere and however you’d like. If there’s a particular zone you’re not fond of, then skip it!
Players that want to experience all of the lore and immerse themselves in the storyline will probably want to pay in campaign mode, but for those that just want to destroy demons, power level, and go on item hunts, then Adventure mode will be a more appealing form of play. For the best of both worlds, you can toggle between either mode at any time.
Adventure Mode will remove a lot of the seemingly unnecessary redundancy of game play, giving players the ability to play the game how they want. This is going to be an awesome feature.
Adventure Mode: Bounties
Bounties are new game play objectives that will be available in Adventure Mode only. When a player starts a new game in Adventure Mode, they will be presented with a different set of bounties for each act. Bounties will be totally random, and will have objectives like: kill a certain unique monster, down a particular boss, clear a specific dungeon, or complete an in-game event.
Bounties are totally optional, but they will provide players with rewards upon completion, making them a compelling choice every time you create a new Adventure Mode game. Completing Bounties will reward you with experience, gold, and achievements, and possibly Legendaries! Blizzard has announced that they are hoping to add a feature that will enable players to access Legendary items through the Bounties system.
Completing Bounties will also grant players with a new item called Rift Keystones, which are used to unlock yet another new feature.

Adventure Mode: Nephalem Rifts
Nephalem Rifts are perhaps the most exciting and heavily anticipated feature in the upcoming expansion. Nephalem Rifts are completely randomized dungeons which are accessed via Rift Keystones. Nephalem Rifts can be a mash-up of any content in the game.
The dungeons will be randomly generated, using totally different textures, layouts, lighting, weather, monster combos, and a random boss. Nephalem Rift dungeons will also contain special shrines which are not available outside this portion of the game. The shrines will grant players with some really crazy buffs, such as major speed boosts, invulnerability, one-shot auras, etc…which would be considered OP outside of a NR dungeon.
The size of the Nephalem Rift dungeon is also random, but the encounters will be designed to be completed within about 10-15 minutes.
Players will access Nephalem Rift dungeons by using a Rift Keystone at a Nephalem Obelisk, which will be available in various town hubs. Rift Keystones will be awarded after completing Bounties, and will also drop randomly off of mobs while in Adventure Mode.
