Will the Diablo 3 PvP Arena be a competitive area of play..? Is Diablo 3 PvP poised to become an eSport..?
Not hardly.
Diablo 3 is going to be mainly about the co-op experience, with PvP functioning as merely a fun diversion for those interested in it. The reason being, it will be far too difficult and counter-productive for Blizzard to try and achieve some sort of balance for all of the character classes in Diablo 3.
Diablo 3 PvP will still be a fun component of gameplay – and likely will have some nifty achievements associated with it – but don’t expect it to be something players should “take seriously”. If Blizzard decides to re-introduce world PvP in Diablo 3 (i.e., going hostile) or perhaps dueling, then I imagine players might get into it a bit more. As for now, though, expect a much more concentrated effort from the devs as it pertains to churning out new and challenging PvE content to satisy players for years to come.

There you have it…Diablo 3 PvP is not going to be competitive…it’s going to be “for fun”. I’m alright with that, how about you?
