The end of the auction house is fast approaching, with the official closure happening tomorrow – Tuesday, March 18th at 3am PST. If you have any funds left in your Battle.net balance, or if you’re sitting on a surplus of Gold, then you might want to seriously consider buying a few things, namely:
- Rubies for your Crusader
- Gear for your Crusader or other alts(s) you plan to level
If you’re returning to the game after an extended break, then you’ll definitely want to look to the auction house today for some newer 2.0 gear.
If you have an abundance of Gold, you might consider selling a chunk of it right now. People are looking to buy it, with the going rate being around $5.35 per 50M.
Alternatively, if you are low on Gold and have a few bucks left in your BNet balance, for less than $6 you can set yourself up for the next expansion. Gold will still be a necessary and valuable commodity for use with Artisan Crafting, so if you fill your coffers now, it’s one less thing to worry about.
The first expansion for Diablo 3 is arriving in one week. If you’re wondering how best to prepare for it, see our post on Preparing for War for some quick tips. If you’ve still yet to pre-order Reaper of Souls, see this post for the different options.
Official Auction House Closure Announcement
Here is the official video announcing the closure of the AH, presented by John Hight and Josh Mosquiera last September.
Goodbye, gold and real money auction houses…you were fun while you lasted, but we’re not all that sorry to see you go. While the AH did add a bit of convenience, it did suck a lot of the soul out of the game.
